The next on-screen lover of “Business Proposal” Seol In Ah: even prettier than women, top-notch acting skills
The second female lead of “Business Proposal” will return to the small screen alongside this dashing actor
Actress Seol In Ah became the talk of town after appearing in the 2022 hit K-drama “Business Proposal”. Despite not being the female lead, her character still draws attention with outstanding visuals, a chic fashion sense, impressive acting, and a heart-fluttering romance with the second male lead, played by actor Kim Minkyu. From a lesser-known actress, Seol In Ah suddenly became a famous name, even scoring a female lead role of her own.
Recently, the beautiful actress has been confirmed to star in the upcoming KBS2 drama “Oasis”, as the on-screen lover of “flower boy” actor Jang Dong Yoon, who previously gained attention with his crossdresser role in “Take of Nokdu”.
In “Oasis”, Seol In Ah will assume the role of Oh Jung Shin, also known as Sophia. Her character was born in 1961 to a wealthy family which owns and manages the Namhae Theater. Later on, Jung Shin moved to Seoul and fell in love with Doo Hak (Jang Dong Yoon), making for a beautiful romance, before Doo Hak unfortunately had to leave the country. At the same time, Namhae Theater was in ruins, and so Jung Shin had to hold back her tears and revive her parents’ legacy.
The drama will be set in the turbulent 80s and 90s, and will depict the harsh lives, revenges, and conflicts between youths of the time, who pursue wealth and power in an extremely flawed society. Jang Dong Yoon’s character Lee Doo Hak, in particular, is described as an intelligent but naive child, who grew jaded after his father was wrongfully killed, forcing him to dirty his hands for venange. With such an intense and packed script, alongside the promising cast, “Oasis” is expected to hit it big on the Korean small screen.
Back in May, Korean media reported that Jang Dong Yoon was “positively considering” to star in Oasis. While there has been no official confirmation of his appearance, the actor’s name is already appearing in popular K-drama sites and media platforms. “Oasis” will be the 2nd time Seol In Ah and Jang Dong Yoon film together after “School 2017”, should the actor take on the offer.
Jang Dong Yoon, who was born in 1992, gained massive popularity for his visuals in “Tale of Nokdu”, which were said to even surpass the female lead. Unfortunately, after “Tale of Nokdu”, the actor has yet to make any impressive returns. He was anticipated to make it big through the unique period series “Joseon Exorcist”, but the series was eventually canceled after 2 episodes due to historical inaccuracies and cultural issues. Still, there are chances for Jang Dong Yoon to truly shine again, especially as the actor boasts outstanding looks, brilliant acting, and high determination.
