Seol In Ah Struggles to Achieve a Breakthrough in 2023 after Success of “Business Proposal”

Seol In Ah has certainly been hard at work, but her efforts have yet to translate into breakthrough performances in leading roles. Her ongoing drama, “Twinkling Watermelon,” with a fresh and engaging storyline and a cast delivering solid performances, has caught the eye of many viewers. 

However, “Twinkling Watermelon” hasn’t achieved outstanding ratings, with the latest episode drawing a modest 3.79%.

Seol In Ah debuted in 2015 with a minor role in “The Producers.” She then went on to star in notable dramas like “Strong Woman Do Bong Soon,” “School 2017,” “Record of Youth,” and “Mr. Queen.” 

However, it was her outstanding portrayal of the second female lead in “Business Proposal” last year that majorly boosted her public recognition.

Following her success in “Business Proposal,” Seol In Ah landed lead roles in two dramas airing this year, “Twinkling Watermelon” and “Oasis.” While “Twinkling Watermelon” boasts an intriguing storyline, it has struggled to achieve high ratings. 

On the other hand, “Oasis” also failed to capture a significant portion of the audience, with an average rating of only 6.9%.

Seol In Ah also had a movie release this year, “Love My Scent,” where she starred alongside Yoon Shi Yoon. However, the film failed to hit big at the box office, with ticket sales of just $88,296. Unfortunately, this movie did not provide a career breakthrough for Seol In Ah.
