Big Bang G-Dragon (Kwon Ji Yong) draws attention as he raises fans’ expectations for active activities in 2023.
YG Entertainment uploaded a new video titled “G-DRAGON – GUERRILLA DESK : G_Division” on G-Dragon’s official SNS account on December 1st. It’s a surprise video G-Dragon prepared for his fans in celebration of the new year.
G-Dragon stood on the chair in front of the camera and shyly said, “It’s been a while since I’ve said hello unexpectedly. I couldn’t communicate that much with fans in 2022”, adding “I want to let you guys know what I’m up to and what my plans are for next year. Thought you might be curious about things like that, so I decided to film this clip.”
Last year, G-Dragon’s group Big Bang released the song “Still Life” and topped major music charts in Korea. Recalling 2022, in which he didn’t carry out many activities, G-Dragon said, “We couldn’t meet with fans or perform, so I personally feel upset about that. But over the past year, I personally worked out really hard and spent my days doing what I can do from where I stand preparing and taking a break. It was a year where I recharged myself.”
Revealing that he is planning to repay fans’ love in 2023, G-Dragon said, “I wanted to take this opportunity and tell you guys that I will work hard next year. I plan on meeting you guys through various activities. I’m preparing an album, too”, adding “I’ll make sure to bring some good news to you guys in the new year.”
Lastly, he said, “Good job everyone for last year. You did really well. I wish you health in 2023 and may the new year bring you more luck. Let’s soar once again in the new year. Let’s meet with good news”.
G-Dragon is currently the only Big Bang member in YG. Big Bang’s youngest member Seungri withdrew from the group and left YG in 2018. In February this year, T.O.P also announced the end of his exclusive contract.
Recently, Taeyang and Daesung also parted ways with YG after their contract expired. Taeyang signed with YG’s sublabel The Black Label, while Daesung is seeking a new start.
Attention is focused on how G-Dragon, who stays in YG alone, will appear in front of the public in this new year.
