“Street Dance Girls Fighter” Lee Chae Rin with cancer, “I was afraid of people’s eyes but now I just want to continue dancing happily”
Dancer Lee Chae Rin, who is fighting against cancer, revealed her recent status with a bright appearance.
On August 11th, the Youtube channel “Kizzle” uploaded a new video titled “A high school girl with lymphatic cancer | A day in the life of [Street Dance Girl Fighter] dancer Lee Chae Rin”
In the video, Lee Chae Rin introduced herself, saying “Hello, I’m Lee Chae Rin and 20 years old. I’m a dancer who appeared on ‘Street Dance Girls Fighter’.” When asked about her whereabouts since the show, the young dancer said, “Since the TV show, I did many competitions and won awards. I’ve been so busy but last September, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. I’ve completed 12 rounds of chemotherapy”.
Lee Chae Rin then went to meet KLWC members who participated in the survival show with her. Recalling when they heard the news about Lee Chae Rin’s health, KLWC friends shared, “I didn’t believe it”, adding “Is this real? I think Chae Rin was really healthy. To hear that she has cancer like that. ‘What should I do?’, I think I was really spaced out at this thought”.
Lee Chae Rin wore a bandana on her head when she appeared on the stage for the first time after being diagnosed with cancer. She said, “I had no hair back then”. With a positive attitude, the dancer said, “I was afraid of the eyes at the other time. But I don’t need it now. I grew out my hair a lot.”
However, regarding the time when she battled cancer, Lee Chae Rin confessed, “It was hard for me. Since I’m a dancer, I danced every day, and every day I was happy. Not being able to do that made me so depressed. I was worried about what I can do. I was very concerned about my future”. Revealing that she hasn’t been able to dance for a long time, Lee Chae Rin said, “I see a lot of Reels. Everyone does the NewJeans song. Watching this makes me want to dance”.
The group moved to another place to do the dance challenge. When Lee Chae Rin’s face turned red, her friends asked if she was okay. In response, Lee Chae Rin firmly said, “My skin wasn’t this sensitive but the chemo drugs made my skin weak, so I easily become red even I move or sweat a little.”
Nevertheless, Lee Chae Rin tried to improve her health condition and worked hard to start dancing again, conveying the energy of hope to everyone. Not losing her charisma even though she was nervous, Lee Chae Rin even completed a dance lesson. She shared, “I won’t be sick anymore. I want to be happy, without any stress, without being greedy, and just be happy”.
She continued, “When I was sick, I had a lot of time to think alone. Before, I always wanted to be No.1, always the best. Now, I know it’s okay not to be the best. Just don’t get stressed out and be happy. That’s what I think now. I hope to meet good people, and live a happy life and continue dancing.”
Meanwhile, Lee Chae Rin appeared on Mnet’s “Street Dance Girls Fighter” as the leader of KLWC crew.
