“Single’s Inferno” Female Cast Confesses Reason She Couldn’t Debut As Actress, “Because Of My Body”

A year ago, Kang So-yeon uploaded a Q&A video on her YouTube account. Leaving a great impression on viewers for her extraordinary physique and athletic beauty as a boxer on “Single’s Inferno”, Kang So-yeon said, “I worked out since I was young. My father and my younger sister are athletes. My younger brother is a professional baseball player”, adding “Our breakfast is different from that of other families. We have meat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Mom always told me to eat even if I was late for school”.

She then confessed, “Because of that, I struggled a lot to be an actress in Korea. Because I didn’t have that ideal body type for Koreans. I was always told before the casting that I’m too tall and my body is too big for the role…”

Apart from her dream of becoming an actress, Kang So-yeon was active as an idol 10 years ago but within a very short time even though she spent 5 years as a trainee. Not having plans to return as a singer, Kang So-yeon still had a great desire to pursue acting. She shared, “There’s a show that I might be in. If everything works out then… you guys will be able to see it at the beginning of next year?”

Kang So-yeon did not give up her ambition of becoming an actress just because she did not meet the standards of Korean beauty. Rather, she made an effort to showcase her talents and prove herself in a different way.
