SEVENTEEN Concert Faces Backlash Over Safety and Organizational Concerns

Live Nation PH, the local promoter for SEVENTEEN’s recent concerts in the Philippines, is facing backlash from fans due to dissatisfaction and safety concerns. The group, as part of their Follow tour, had scheduled two nights of performances in Bulacan, Philippines. However, the first night was marred by what fans describe as unpleasant and dangerous conditions, unrelated to any fault of the group.

Issues surfaced early in the day when Live Nation sent out reminders about queuing policies, with some fans arguing that this information should have been communicated earlier, especially considering potential language barriers. Confusion also surrounded the application of the no-reentry policy, given the multiple entry steps required to access the venue.

Fans reported challenges with queuing and strapping procedures, causing delays and raising concerns about meeting soundcheck attendance deadlines. The troubles persisted, including an incident involving a falling sign, contributing to overall discomfort.

Despite the scheduled start time for the soundcheck, ongoing line issues caused some fans to miss it. One fan shared a concerning incident where their sister, attempting to use the PWD (person with disabilities) entrance, was denied access because she did not use a wheelchair. The staff’s comment that “she looked okay” raised discrimination concerns against those with invisible disabilities.

Seated sections also faced issues, with fans discovering that the control booth area obstructed views for some seats. This created dissatisfaction among attendees who paid the same price as those with unobstructed views. The standing areas encountered problems too, including tightly packed sections, insufficient staff, unmet water requests, and a ban on outside water.

Photos circulated depicting overcrowded pit areas, especially near the back, raised safety concerns. SEVENTEEN expressed worry about the situation during the show, requesting water distribution due to high temperatures and humidity throughout the day.

As fans geared up for the second night of concerts, concerns lingered about a row of seats detaching from the concrete, with no apparent communication from Live Nation regarding this safety issue. Despite the excitement of seeing SEVENTEEN perform again, fans expressed frustration with Live Nation PH for numerous safety failures and issues encountered during the event. Additionally, health-related issues faced by SEVENTEEN’s Seungkwan during the show added to the overall discontent among fans.
