Unlike previous rumors, netizens predicted that I’VE would not include the 2 trainees who were supposed to be aespa members and the former “Girls Planet 999’ trainee.
In August of this year, Korean netizens and KPOP fans were excited to hear the news of Starship Entertainment’s new girl group. 5 years after WJSN debuted in 2016, the company is finally preparing for a new girl group. Although Starship is not a big company, their girl group project rapidly gained attention because the 2 former members of IZ*ONE, Ahn Yujin and Jang Wonyoung, are likely to debut with this group.
Not long after the news of Starship’s new girl group broke out, netizens have immediately found out the name of this group based on Starship’s registrations at the Korean Intellectual Property Office. Even though the company has not yet confirmed anything, netizens believe Ahn Yujin and Jang Wonyoung will definitely debut under the girl group I’VE.
Recently, a few more rumors about I’VE have been spread widely on social media platforms and online forums, but this time, Korean netizens consider these rumors to have higher reliability. A screenshot of a post from August of this year on a private Twitter account (supposedly coming from an entertainment insider) has revealed some unpublished information about the upcoming girl group of Starship. According to this source, the girl group consisting of Ahn Yujin and Jang Wonyoung will debut in October, and the youngest member was born in 2007. The members already filmed their debut reality show. There is a member in the lineup who is a former JYP trainee, similar to the case of CRAVITY’s Allen.
Additionally, Korean netizens later spotted another comment that was left on October 10, in which the commenter claimed to know who will be debuting with Ahn Yujin and Jang Wonyoung. When asked to reveal, this person partially disclosed the names of the remaining 4 members of I’VE, including Lee H. Seo, Kim K. Eul, Naoi R., Kim J. Won. Based on this information, it is possible that Starship’s upcoming female rookie will be a 6-member group, including a member who is said to be Japanese.
Of course, until Starship Entertainment announces the official lineup of I’VE, all that has been spread is only unverified rumors. However, some Korean netizens still hope that this rumor will partly become a reality because 6 is an ideal number of members that can benefit the long-term activities of the Starship girl group, without putting too much pressure on Yujin and Jang Wonyoung to “carry” the lineup.
