Police Respond To Claims That Lee Sun-kyun & G-Dragon’s Drug Investigations Are Unreasonable

The police drew a line against complaints about the investigations into G-Dragon and Lee Sun-kyun’s drug allegations

At a regular press conference on November 13th, an official from the National Office of Investigation mentioned the opinion that the recent drug investigations are unreasonable due to lack of evidence.

He said, “Drug crime investigations are determined not only based on results of examinations from the National Forensic Service but also other factors, such as “statements from relevant individuals and forensic data”, adding “It is too hasty to judge that the investigation is unreasonable solely based on the negative results of the preliminary drug tests”.

The police official continued, “During the pre-indictment stage, it is hard to conduct an investigation when incidents are disclosed before clear evidence is obtained. Nevertheless, we will continue the investigation according to legal procedures”, adding “The pre-indictment investigation was conducted in order to verify the facts when a person makes a statement about someone else and this information had been disclosed.”

The Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency’s Drug Crime Investigation Team is conducting investigations, including internal investigations, into 10 people, including Lee Sun-kyun and G-Dragon, on drug charges. However, Lee Sun-kyun already tested negative in his detailed hair examination, and G-Dragon also received a negative result in his simple drug test.

In addition, Lee Sun-kyun denied the claim that he intentionally took drugs, revealing that he was deceived into doing it without knowing. G-Dragon has also been refuting drug allegations several times, making it hard for police investigations to progress.
