Police investigate knife attack threatening notice targeting HYBE, main entrance shut down

A notice of a knife attack targeting HYBE, the agency of BTS, Seventeen, LE SSERAFIM and NewJeans, appeared.

On August 12th, Channel A News reported that the main entrance of HYBE office building has been shut down due to the spread of a notice of a knife attack in front of HYBE building online.

According to reports, signs have been placed around the main entrance of HYBE building stating that entry is restricted and advising visitors to enter the building through the back gate.

The threatening post includes content, such as “I will do a knife attack in front of HYBE office building”, “I hope Chairman Bang Si Hyuk will be there”, etc.

After receiving reports on the 8th and 9th of August, the police conducted searches near the HYBE building but did not find any person with weapons.

Considering the possibility that the person who made the post on X (formerly known as Twitter) might be a minor, the police have obtained a search warrant for that person and are currently tracking them down.

In this regard, HYBE told Channel A that they are “strengthening security at the office building” without providing any specific details.
