Pentagon Hui, “I didn’t feel embarrassed when appearing on ‘Boys Planet’”

Hui of Pentagon honestly confessed about his appearance on Mnet’s survival program “Boys Planet”.

Pentagon participated in an interview with Star News and answered various questions, particularly his appearance on “Boys Planet.”

Regarding his decision to appear on Mnet’s survival show “Boys Planet”, Hui said, “I learned a lot from that experience. Since I debuted long ago, I once again felt what other young friends in this era who dream of becoming singers had in mind and how good they are. Throughout that time, I recharged myself and gained motivation.”

When asked whether he felt unfamiliar to work under his real name Lee Hoe Taek instead of his stage name Hui, the male idol said, “I felt like having two characters at first. However, as time went by, I gradually let go of such pressure. Trainee Lee Hoe Taek was a different person from Hui. I didn’t feel embarrassed at all and I was actually proud to be back as a trainee.”

In response to the question, asking “Survival programs often capture all the shortcomings of trainees. How was it? What did you learn the most?”, Hui said, “I felt a little burdened at first. I’ve been working as an idol for a long time and the other trainees are all younger than me so I thought I should look cool. When I got scolded by the masters, my pride hurt. After looking back on the past, I realized that I was so stubborn. It was like I set a limit for myself”, adding “I overcame it while doing ‘Boys Planet’ and tried many new things. I found myself again and the direction to improve myself more.”

Regarding the members’ reactions to Hui’s appearance on “Boys Planet”, member Woo Seok said, “I did wonder ‘He’s a great artist and everyone knows him. Why is he going out there?’. After having a meeting with the members, we all agreed that he was so cool when making such a hard decision. His effort to get back to square one was amazing and I supported him.”

As all Pentagon members are doing their personal activities, they also expressed their feelings when looking back on their journey, as an individual and as a group. Shin Won said, “We all like challenging new things and achieving great results, so I personally think everyone has something they are good at.” Woo Seok added, “I spent most of the time resting when I was not doing radio. There was a time when my body and mind were not in good condition. However, as I started to have a fixed schedule and lived a regular life, I gained more energy. We need to live healthily.”

Referring to Pentagon’s direction in their 8th year, Kino shared, “We’re discussing it. We have to go forward”.

Lastly, Jin Ho said, “I think this is the time we’ve all become mature. We always think about fans’ support when promoting and we’re very thankful for your love.”
