Park So-dam appears healthily after undergoing papillary thyroid cancer surgery, “I’m recovering well thanks to your support”
Actress Park So-dam showed up in public five months after undergoing surgery for papillary thyroid cancer.
The 58th Baeksang Arts Awards was held at KINTEX in Ilsan on May 6th.
Appearing on the stage as the presenter for Best Short Play in the Theatre category, Park So-dam said, “Thanks to the great concerns and cheers from everyone, I’m recovering well. Many people showed support for my movie ‘Special Cargo’, which premiered earlier this year. At the time it was released, I was in my recovery after surgery so I didn’t have any chance to greet you all in person. Therefore, I want to take this opportunity to deliver my gratitude.”
Park So-dam underwent surgery in December last year after being diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer in a medical examination in November.
Meanwhile, after being held without spectators for the past two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards finally welcomed audiences to the ceremony since the social distancing regulations have been removed. As a result, the award ceremony this year was held with the theme “Spring Again” and hosted by MCs Shin Dong-yeop, Suzy and Park Bo-gum.
