Park Hyung-sik To Lead SBS’s New Drama “Treasure Island”
Actor Park Hyung-sik will continue SBS’s box-office success with “Treasure’s Island”, following “Taxi’s Driver” and “The Fiery Priest”
On March 26th, Sports Chosun stated, “Park Hyung-sik will play the male leader of SBS’s new drama ‘Treasure Island’”.
Written by Lee Myung-hee (“Money Flower”) and directed by Jin Chang-kyu (“Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People” and “Military Prosecutor Doberman”), “Treasure Island” depicts the story of a man who hacks political slush funds worth 2 trillion won to survive and a secret power that kills the man without knowing and loses 2 trillion won. However, the man who hacks 2 trillion won comes back alive, and an unpredictable story unfolds as he seems to have lost all his memories.
Park Hyung-sik will take on the role of Seo Dong-joo, the head of the external cooperation team at Daesan Group’s presidential secretariat who has the ability to remember things through photos. Known as Daesan’s right-hand man, he’s actually an ambitious man who aims to take all the profits from Daesan when there’s an opportunity. This character has a hidden family history to make the narrative more perfect. The story of Park Hyung-sik taking control of Daesan is expected to raise viewers’ excitement.
Park Hyung-sik is a trustworthy actor who has shown remarkable growth after his discharge from the military. He mostly participated in romcoms before his enlistment but later surprised fans by showcasing a wider acting spectrum after being discharged from the army. In particular, after fulfilling military service, he challenged the zombie genre with “Happiness” and showed his manly side then challenged the historical drama “Our Blooming Youth” with the role of a Crown Prince.
Aside from that, Park Hyung-sik recently wrapped up the drama “Doctor Slump” successfully with Park Shin-hye. The drama received enthusiastic responses from not only Korean fans but also overseas viewers. As a result, he was invited to Dubai as a “friend” at the end of March.
