On February 20th, SM Entertainment announced a comeback plan for its artists with a new vision, “SM 3.0”.
According to published data, Taeyeon will release her “5th Mini Album” in April. Meanwhile, aespa, whose comeback was supposed to fall in February but was pushed back due to certain schedules, will release their first full-length album in April.
So far, Taeyeon has released 4 solo mini-albums, including “I”, “Why”, “Something New”, and “What Do I Call You”, as well as 3 full-length albums, including “My Voice”, “Purpose”, and “INVU”.
On the other hand, Taeyeon’s group, Girls’ Generation (SNSD), has a total of 10 studio albums (3 of which are repackaged albums), and 4 mini albums “Gee”, “Genie”, “Hoot”, “Mr. Mr.”.
As a result, when Taeyeon releases her 5th mini album in April, she will have more mini albums than her group, Girls’ Generation.
Meanwhile, SM Entertainment is in the middle of a management dispute between HYBE, which acquired a 14.8% stake from former executive producer Lee Soo Man, and Kakao, which secured a 9.05% stake.
