Lizzy’s management company Celltrion Entertainment quickly confirmed and apologized for the incident
According to the Seoul Gangnam Police Department, Park Soo Young (Lizzy) was arrested on May 19 for causing a traffic accident while drunk. When questioned by the police, Lizzy admitted her mistake.
The female idol collided with a taxi in the Cheongdam neighborhood of Gangnam district at around 10 p.m. on May 18. Fortunately, there were no casualties in this incident. Her blood alcohol screening results at the time of the crash, however, were sufficient to have her license revoked.
Lizzy’s management company immediately made an anouncement:
“Hello, this is Celltrion Entertainment
We apologise profusely for raising confusion about the unnecessary incident involving actress Lizzy (Park Soo-young). We discovered Lizzy had been drinking and driving on the night of the 18th. This is unforgivable conduct. We will bear the brunt of the blame for creating a stir.
She regrets it and is reprimanding herself for it. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused everyone. To avoid this from happening again, we will do whatever we can to control the company’s artists. So sorry.”
In 2010, Park Soo Young made her debut as Lizzy of After School, and she graduated from the group in 2018. Since then, she has concentrated on her acting career.
