Lee Sun-kyun to be summoned for the third time today (Dec 23rd) “Will the truth be revealed?”

Actor Lee Sun-kyun (48), who is under suspicion of drug use, will undergo his third round of questioning today (Dec 23rd)

The Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency’s Drug Crime Investigation Unit will summon Lee Sun-kyun, who is suspected of violating the Narcotics Control Act, for the third time on Dec 23rd.

Lee Sun-kyun is accused of smoking marijuana at the Seoul residence of A (29), the female manager of an entertainment venue in Gangnam, this year. After the allegations surfaced, he filed complaints against 2 people, including A, claiming that he was extorted out of 350 million won due to the incident.

On this day, Lee Sun-kyun is scheduled to be initially questioned as a victim of serious coercion involving a large sum of money before undergoing additional questioning as a suspect in the drug case.

During the police investigation, he claimed “A deceived me and gave me drugs“, stating that he did not know it was drugs. This is a statement denying intentionality.

After receiving negative results in the drug tests, which involved collecting urine, hair, leg hair and armpit hair, Lee Sun-kyun changed his stance, “Drug use itself may not be true.”

A, who was first arrested on psychotropic drug charges on Nov 3rd, admitted to receiving 300 million won but claimed to be blackmailed through SNS by someone who doubted her relationship with Lee.

Amidst this, A also claimed that she took drugs together with Lee Sun-kyun.

A’s lawyer told Yonhap News in a phone call on Dec 15th, “Lee took philopon or ketamine at A’s house at least 5 times. The number of times confirmed through evidence was 5, but in reality, there were more.”

As both sides’ positions are conflicting, attention is focused on whether the truth will be revealed through the third summons investigation.

Meanwhile, a practicing plastic surgeon who is accused of providing drugs to Lee Sun-kyun and others was arrested on Dec 20th.

Singer G-Dragon (35, real name Kwon Ji-yong), who was also accused of drug-related charges along with Lee Sun-kyun, has been cleared of the charges. He received negative results in precise tests involving urine, hair and nails.
