To the question “You started acting when you were a kid, and now you are an adult actress. Have you kissed on a show before?“, Lee Se-young responded, “I have, many times. I think I did it for the first time in 2012! In ‘Dream of the Emperor’, I played Chun Gwan-nyeo and there was a scene where we had to kiss and get undressed in a cave before we enter the palace together. It was the first kiss scene I did when I became an adult. I was worried and nervous. In ‘The Gentlemen of Wolgyesu Tailor Shop’, we kissed many times when it wasn’t even on the script! We just make an agreement in advance and until the show is over.“
Regarding the preparation process before a kissing scene, she mentioned, “Before the kiss, I brush my teeth. There are actors who use mouthwash, too. When I get too hungry during the shoot, I would feed the male role the same food I’m having then we’re free to kiss. When I have to kiss for 5 hours, then I just take mints.”
When Dex asked “I’m actually very curious and I’m only asking because I have no idea, but do you actually kiss?“, she replied, “I also asked this question! If I don’t make this clear, it would just be weird for the both of us, you know? I don’t want to be rude and I don’t want it to be awkward, so sometimes I would just go ahead and ask.”
Dex said, “I remember watching about how if you just have the right angle, you don’t have to actually kiss.” Lee Se-young explained, “Cameras these days are not that easy to fool. When we turn, the camera follows. It’s chasing after the lips!“
