It depends on Netflix’s decision”, adding “Back then when I talked to actor Masaki Suda, I already had some ideas to continue the series. Regarding the question about the Japanese live-action film “Parasyte” and the character Shinichi played by Shota Sometani, director Yeon said, “The age according to my setting would not fit with it”, emphasizing that the latter part of “Parasyte: The Grey” takes place 8 years after the events of the previous worldview.

He continued, “Masaki Suda is not too young, but he has a boyish visual and fits well with the image I was looking for. It’s not a completely different image from the one Shota Sometani portrayed”, adding “I needed an independent character in the worldview of ‘Parasyte’. I was worried about casting him because he’s too famous, but the actor gladly agreed to do it”.

Director Yeon Sang-ho raised hope for Season 2, saying “If Season 2 were to be produced, it could have a very serious and unexpected story”.

Meanwhile, “Parasyte: The Grey” has released all episodes on Netflix.
