Kris Wu’s Appeal Sentence: 13 Years In Prison and Deported, No Castration?

The final sentence for Kris Wu (Wu Yifan) has been decided

On the morning of November 24, the Beijing Court in China refuted Kris Wu’s appeal and decided on the same sentence as the lower court.

In particular, the court affirmed that Kris Wu took advantage of his female victims being drunk, and gathered people to together to engage in indecency as a main culprit.

“The facts are clear and the evidence is clear”, the court also said to explain their decision to not alter Kris Wu’s sentence.

It is known that Kris Wu was initially sentenced to 13 years in prison under two charges, including rape (11 year and 6 month imprisonment and expulsion from China) and group promiscuity (1 year and 10 month imprisonment).

Meanwhile, in accordance with Canadian law that chemically castrates sex offenders by administering drugs, there has been widespread speculation that Kris Wu will also be subject to such measures. However, his sentence did not mention this punishment.

It is also reported that Kris Wu’s family and the Embassy of Canada in China was in attendance at this appeal trial.

Back in 2020, Kris Wu was accused of sexual assaulting 3 women while drink at his home, and in 2018, he allegedly engaged in group indecency with various others, including minors under the age of 18.

These accusations first came to light when one of Kris Wu’s victims, Du Meizhu, spoke up.

However, there has recently been an audio of Du Meizhu allegedly extorting and blackmailing the male star. However, public opinion was not swayed as Kris Wu’s sentence proved that he has still committed crime.
