Korean netizens point out 6 pieces of evidence that Aespa’s Karina and NCT’s Jungwoo are dating(ft. ITZY’s Ryujin)
In fact, this rumor has been circulating on the Korean Internet forums for quite some time, but it was not until the latest post that everything spread widely.
In the past months, there have been quite a few young idols of KPOP’s 4th generation who were suddenly mentioned in dating rumors. Dating rumors (if true) might not be a big deal for established and well-known idols, but it can become a big deal for rising trending idols or newcomers. And recently, such a dating rumor has broken out again, and this time both people involved are artists under SM Entertainment.
On the morning of October 29, fans were surprised to see a series of posts questioning the relationship between Karina (aespa) and Jungwoo (NCT) suddenly climbing to the top trendings of the Korean forum Nate Pann, accompanied by hundreds of comments left in a short time. In fact, it wasn’t until now that rumors about Karina and Jungwoo began to circulate in the Korean online community, but a recent post on NCT 127’s official Twitter account became the final straw that caught Korean netizens’ attention.
In the hottest post on Pann at the moment, Korean netizens have listed 6 situations where Karina and Jungwoo are said to be “too obvious” about their relationship.

1. Acronyms
Karina and Jungwoo mentioned two identical acronyms twice, including 별다줄 [Byul-Da-Juj] (별 걸 다 줄인다 People keep shortening/shortening things) and 오저치고 [Oh-Jeo-Chi-Go] (오늘 저녁(에) 치킨 고 -> Let’s eat fried chicken tonight).

This is also the reason why the dating rumors between them suddenly broke out at this time. Accordingly, many people pointed out that “>_0” is an uncommon emoticon, but Karina often uses it when texting with fans on Bubble. And on October 28, Jungwoo suddenly used this emoticon in NCT 127’s official Twitter post.
5. Using the same trending word in an uncomfortable way
Both use “skrr skrr” (스컬스컬), which refers to the sound made by the friction between the wheels and the ground when the car brakes suddenly or changes direction. To describe this sound, Koreans prefer using the word 끼익.
6. The pizza incident
Aside from the aforementioned circumstances, the surprisingly close relationship between Karina and Ryujin (ITZY) also causes netizens to be confused. Many people speculated that their “boyfriends” might just have introduced them to each other. Not long ago, Ryujin was engaged in dating rumors with Haechan, another NCT 127 member. Of course, when there is still no official response from the management company, all these speculations, whether reasonable or not, are just rumors.
