Kim Woo Bin on his upcoming film “Alienoid”, “It’s been 6 years since I filmed a movie, I thought I shouldn’t get too excited”
Kim Woo Bin expressed his feelings about the release of “Alienoid”, his first film in six years.
The press conference of the upcoming movie “Alienoid” was held in Yeouido, Seoul, at 11 a.m. KST on June 23rd, with the presence of director Choi Dong Hoon and actors Ryu Jun Yeol, Kim Woo Bin, Kim Tae Ri, So Ji Sub, Yum Jung Ah, Cho Woo Jin, Kim Eui Sung.
On this day, Kim Woo Bin said, “I filmed a movie after six years“. Kim Woo Bin plays the Guard, who exists on Earth to fulfill his mission of managing alien prisoners in “Alienoid”. He continued, “When I acted as the Guard, I tried to judge more calmly without being swayed by the people or situations around me. I acted with the thought that I shouldn’t get excited. I did it with the hope that there would be a character like the Guard somewhere in the real world.”
When MC Park Kyung Rim jokingly complained, “How can I get caught by Kim Woo Bin?” he laughed with a witty response, “If you watch ‘Alienoid’ more than 3 times and promote the movie to three or more people around you, you will get in the list of nominees.”
Kim Woo Bin was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer in 2017 and stopped all activities. He was about to film “Wiretap” at the time but he ended up not being able to join, so director Choi Dong Hoon started producing a new project, “Alienoid”, and cast him as one of the leads. Kim Woo Bin has now recovered completely and recently made a successful comeback with the drama “Our Blues.”
“Alienoid” is a movie depicting the story unfolding as the door of time opens between Taoists who want to take possession of a sword in the late Goryeo Dynasty and those who pursue alien prisoners imprisoned in a human body in 2022. It will be released in theaters on July 20th.
