KARA’s Kang Ji-young and Heo Young-ji “We first met on the 15th debut anniversary + spoke formally to each other”

KARA members Kang Ji-young and Heo Young-ji appeared as guests on “XYOB”, which was uploaded to the YouTube channel “JohnMaat” on July 26th.

In place of MC Park Joon-hyung, who was absent due to an overseas schedule, Jeon Tae-poong stepped in as a special MC. Jeon Tae-poong showcased his top-notch entertainment skills, displaying great chemistry with MC Brian as well as the guests.

Kang Ji-young and Heo Young-ji displayed their unfiltered and honest charm throughout the broadcast, highlighting their “entertainment idol” qualities. They heated up the atmosphere by performing their iconic “butt dance” from their hit song “Mr.” and “STEP”. They also showcased the key choreography of KARA’s recently released digital single “I Do I Do”, which drew attention.

The story of Kang Ji-young and Heo Young-ji’s first meeting was also shared. They met for the first time on the day the group took group photos to commemorate KARA’s 15th debut anniversary. Heo Young-ji revealed, “We were still speaking formally to each other on this day.” Kang Ji-young added, “As we worked together as a team, we became closer. Despite being quite different, that’s what helped us become friends.” This was evident when the two chose different options during a spontaneous balance game, bringing laughter.

As a global food talk show, “XYOB” featured dishes prepared by a chef, including tofu kimchi canapés, truffle potato omelets and clam fish cake soup. Heo Young-ji expressed her satisfaction, “I feel really good because the food is so delicious.”
