Actor Kang Ha-neul was full of charisma.
On May 18th, JTBC’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama “Insider” (written by Moon Man-se, directed by Min Yeon-hong), which will premiere at 10:30 PM on June 8th, unveiled the first still cuts of Kang Ha-neul, who transformed into the judicial trainee “Kim Yo-han” whose life turns upside down when he goes on an undercover investigation.
“Insider” is an action suspense drama about Kim Yo-han, a judicial trainee who experiences a crisis while undercover for an investigation of a corrupt prosecutor and ends up struggling to obtain a hand of cards that will change his fate. It plans to present elaborate brain battles, high-level psychological warfare and hot action on a game board where desires are intertwined.
Director Min Yeon-hong, who proved delicate directing skills in “Missing: The Other Side” (2020) and writer Moon Man-se, who showed sensuous writing skills through “Priest” (2018~2019), worked together. Above all, people are focusing on the synergy of actors such as Kang Ha-neul, Lee Yoo-young, Heo Sung-tae, Kim Sang-ho, Kang Young-seok, Heo Dong-won…
In the photos, Kim Yo-han’s fate is about to turn upside down, drawing attention. The game in front of him is just a means, not a purpose, as he has come to the gambling table after chasing the traces of corrupt prosecutors.
Kang Ha-neul cited “the power of the script” as the reason for choosing “Insider” and said, “I felt like I was reading a scenario. It was a story with a lot to look forward to.”
He added, “I was also curious about the charisma of director Min Yeon-hong, who always leads the filming site pleasantly and smoothly. I was very happy to be able to feel this on set.”
About the character Kim Yo-han, Kang Ha-neul explained, “He has a rationality as cold as ice and a heart as hot as fire. He’s walking a fine line between his fiery anger, frustration and cold rationality. I tried to focus on not revealing too much but at the same time showing his thoughts.”
