On January 12, a netizen made a post on the popular Korean forum Nate Pann with the title “NMIXX’s Haewon has a good proportion when she is among ordinary people.”

The post includes various photos of Haewon standing with normal people, saying, “She was criticized a lot for her big head and not being proportional. I guess all the idols had a small head and she just stood out. When she is among ordinary people, her proportion is rather good. Her head doesn’t look big. It’s just a bit small. Anyway, it was unfair for Haewon. LOL Honestly, her proportion at this level is normal for a Korean, but the proportion of other idols is just so good.”

After only a day, the original post has gathered approximately 123,000 views and various comments, most of which agree with the netizens.

Some of the top comments include,

  • “In the first place, there are no big heads among celebrities. People who are criticized for their big heads actually have a normal head size. Rather, their heads look small because their features are big. When their body looks small, they look big. But idols get criticized for having a big head because all the celebrities around them have small heads, or because they have thin skeletons and narrow shoulders, their heads even look big because they are skinny. It’s either because of their small heads or smaller bodies, only their faces seem to be big.”
  • “Big head where? She is pretty. Even though the image quality is bad, you can still see her face and it is pretty. This is indeed a celebrity.”
  • “That’s true. Cameras for idols usually give extremely bad videos. They can’t show their real proportions.”
  • “Celebrities’ heads are much smaller than ordinary people in real life. Celebrities’ bigger faces are just ordinary people’s faces. If it’s small on TV, it’s the size of a real child’s head.”
  • “The cameras of broadcasting stations and reporters make they look more puffy and ugly, not only their proportion, but also their features and everything came out much worse than the real thing.”
