The first part narrated by An Yujin focuses on Fubao’s charm, while the second part narrated by Kim Dae-ho delves into the theme of love. Fubao, born during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic in July 2020, became the first naturally bred baby panda in Korea. The documentary showcases Fubao’s growth, from a tiny 197g cub to a 100kg panda.

The documentary captures the daily life of the Bao family, giving viewers insight into Fubao’s various expressions and endearing behaviors. Despite the cuteness, Fubao is not a pet, and Kang Cheol-won, with 36 years of experience, emphasizes the dedication required for panda care.

The documentary also covers Fubao’s recent escapades, including an incident in November 2023 when it climbed over the fence of the outdoor radiation zone, resulting in a ban on outdoor activities. Fubao, often referred to as the “nation’s granddaughter”, captivates netizens with its diverse expressions and lovable actions.

As Fubao turns four in July 2024, there are plans for it to return to China based on a contractual agreement. The documentary anticipates exploring how Fubao will spend the turbulent time of adolescence, known as “Panda Adolescence”.
