Hwasa releases meaningful photo on SNS amid controversy over her obscene festival performance

MAMAMOO Hwasa posted a meaningful photo on social media while being sued for doing obscene actions on stage.

On July 11th, Hwasa uploaded a photo on her Instagram Story without a caption.

The released picture shows a woman on the beach looking at the waves. Since the woman only shows her back, it is unknown whether she is Hwasa or someone else.

However, many netizens commented that the scene of the woman watching the swirling waves reminds them of Hwasa facing the recent controversies surrounding her.

Earlier on the 10th, Chosun Ilbo reported that the Parents’ Association for the Protection of Students’ Human Rights had filed a complaint with the police against MAMAMOO Hwasa due to her obscene performance at a university festival in May.

In this regard, Hwasa’s agency P Nation released their position on the same day, saying “We are aware that the police is conducting a preliminary investigation.”

In May, Hwasa performed “Don’t Give” at Sungkyunkwan University’s festival for the filming of tvN’s “Dancing Queens on the Road”.

That day, Hwasa drew attention when she showed up on the stage wearing a black see-through top and short hot pants. During the performance, the MAMAMOO member shocked everyone when she suddenly sat down with her legs open wide then licked her hands and touched the sensitive part of her body.

Videos of Hwasa’s shocking action on the stage spread in various online communities and sparked a heated debate among Internet users.

The majority of netizens criticized Hwasa’s action, saying “It’s so obscene”, “What an excessive performance”, “She crossed the line”, etc. However, some defended Hwasa, saying “There’s no problem with Hwasa’s bold performance since it was at a university festival”.
