Korean-American Hollywood star Daniel Dae Kim expressed his deep sorrow over the recent shooting disaster in the U.S.

On May 9th (KST), Hollywood actor & movie producer Daniel Dae Kim, who starred in the popular series “Lost”, posted on his SNS account a photo of the victims of the shooting that took place at a shopping mall in the suburbs of Dallas, Texas to mourn them.

Along with the picture of a Korean family identified as victims of the Texas shooting, Daniel Dae Kim added the caption “Another pathetically tragic day living – and dying – with the insanity that is American gun violence.”

On May 6th (local time), a shooting occurred at a shopping mall in the suburbs of Dallas, Texas, and killed 8 people. It is known that three members of a Korean family, who went to the shopping mall to exchange clothes their son received on his birthday, were among the victims, drawing great regret from netizens.

The deceased couple were Korean immigrants who followed their parents to the United States when they were young. The two and their second son died in the shooting, while their eldest son was reportedly injured and is receiving treatment in the hospital.

Meanwhile, the shooter, a 33-year-old man named Mauricio Garcia, was killed at the scene. Authorities are investigating the motive for the crime, considering the possibility of a racial hate crime based on his online posts.
