Heartache as Only One Member Stands in for BIGBANG Singing Latest Song “Still Life”
Daesung seemed to open a mini concert for BIGBANG at the personal event
On the evening of March 16th, Daesung (BIGBANG) successfully held a solo fan meeting in Seoul, South Korea. Recently, Daesung released the single “Falling Slowly.” This was the first fan meeting event for a BIGBANG member after leaving YG Entertainment at the end of 2022. At the fan meeting, Daesung not only performed his new song and solo tracks but also thrilled fans by opening a mini concert featuring BIGBANG’s music, bringing back memories of their youth.
Fans felt a pang of sadness seeing only one member representing BIGBANG singing a series of hits. The stage for “Still Life” was particularly emotional. Daesung brought back memories of BIGBANG’s heyday with a string of hits from “Haru Haru,” “Lies,” “Fantastic Baby,” “Blue,” “Monster,” to “If You,” “Last Dance,” and “Bang Bang Bang.” Daesung alone carried out performances that were full of emotion, replacing his fellow members and delivering powerful renditions of the hit songs.
In particular, Daesung also performed live for the first time the song “Still Life,” which was released after Seungri’s departure from the group. This song served as a difficult farewell message. In “Still Life,” the members didn’t have any shared frames or lines to sing together. Each member sang from their hearts, signaling a new chapter in their careers with their own individual directions.
The stage for “Still Life” has always been a longing for fans. V.I.Ps await the day when they can see BIGBANG reunite. In their imagination, the live stage of “Still Life” will have four members, but at the fan meeting, Daesung fulfilled part of the fans’ wishes by presenting “Still Life” live on stage.
During each song, the V.I.Ps harmonized with Daesung, creating a warm atmosphere. Idols and fans bridged the gap in a space filled with uplifting music. BIGBANG fans have accepted the reality of the members pursuing different paths. As long as the idols continue their musical activities, they will surely continue to support them. However, deep down, each fan holds onto the hope and dream of a BIGBANG reunion.
