BTS set a new record once again!
According to Oricon on Dec 24th, BTS topped its year-end artist rankings for 2021 as the best-selling artist of the year in Japan. The annual rankings are determined by calculating the total sales of an artist’s singles, albums, and DVDs, as well as their streaming data, for the entire year.
Oricon said, “BTS is now the first foreign artist in history to top the year-end artist rankings. The success of ‘BTS, THE BEST’ and their smash hit single ‘Butter’, as well as the enduring popularity of their 2020 hit ‘Dynamite’, all played a big role in the group soaring to the top of this year’s artist rankings.”
BTS members expressed their feelings, “We are truly delighted and grateful to claim No.1 on Oricon’s yearly rankings for 2021. We believe this is all thanks to ARMYs who are always supporting us.”
