“Lee Seung Gi’s music revenue controversy” HOOK’s CEO Kwon Jin Young released his position

HOOK Entertainment’s CEO Kwon Jin Young, who is embroiled in the controversy over Lee Seung Gi’s music revenue, directly delivered his statement.

CEO Kwon Jin Young said in an official statement on November 21st, “The media have recently reported various bad stories about our company and me personally. Whether they are true or not, I’m deeply ashamed of myself”, adding “I feel so embarrassed and sorry because everything is my fault and it’s all due to my lack of virtue.”

He explained, “I believe it is our duty to confirm the facts regarding the stories that are currently being reported and highlighted in the media in detail. However, as we mentioned earlier, we are currently in the process of checking the facts and there is room for legal action in the future, so we ask for your understanding once again on the part that we will be refraining from expressing positions.”

Lastly, CEO Kwon said, “In the future, if there is any part that HOOK Entertainment or I, personally, are confirmed to be legally responsible for, we will take full responsibility without stepping back and avoiding it”, adding, “We will do our best to not interfere with the entertainment activities of our artists, and be more careful to avoid causing more concerns to everyone.”

Earlier on the same day, Dispatch reported that singer-actor Lee Seung Gi has not received any settlement for his music revenue during the past 18 years. 

According to the media outlet, Lee Seung Gi has not yet paid the amount of 9.6 billion won he has made in music profits since his debut. 

On November 18th, HOOK Entertainment confirmed that they already received the content certification sent by Lee Seung Gi, saying “We are reviewing related data and preparing the answer. We are trying to solve this matter smoothly without causing misunderstanding between the two sides”.

This is Kwon Jin Young, CEO of HOOK Entertainment.

The media have recently reported various bad stories about our company and me personally. Whether they are true or not, I’m deeply ashamed of myself.

In the future, if there is any part that HOOK Entertainment or I, personally, are confirmed to be legally responsible for, we will take full responsibility without stepping back and avoiding it. 

HOOK Entertainment and I will do our best to not interfere with the entertainment activities of our artists.
