Halle Bailey dressed up as an Avatar and netizens think it suits her better than the Little Mermaid

Halle Bailey, who plays Ariel in the live-action version of “The Little Mermaid”, has transformed into an Avatar.

On October 31st (local time), Halle Bailey revealed her Halloween costume through her social media accounts. She was completely transformed into the Na’vi princess from the movie “Avatar”.

Halle Bailey, who plays Ariel in the live-action film of Disney’s 1989 animation “The Little Mermaid”, has been said by netizens to resemble the Na’vi princess from “Avatar” many times.

Perhaps that’s why there has been a hot response to her appearance in the Avatar makeup.

“Always wanted to be an avatar. Happy Halloween,” said Bailey, who boasted a visual that is almost identical to the Na’vi princess with blue skin and pointed ears unique to the Na’vi tribe.

The official Twitter account of the movie “Avatar” also shared Halle Bailey’s photos and responded, “We are happy to have you as a part of our world.”

Previously, Bailey was cast as the main character in the live-action movie “The Little Mermaid”, which is scheduled to be released in 2023. But the birth of a black Ariel was not welcomed by many.

In particular, after the movie’s teaser trailer was released in September, criticisms have been pouring in against Disney and Bailey herself. An AI artist even released a video in which Ariel has been corrected to have white skin in the trailer.

On the other hand, after 13 years, “Avatar” is set to return to the big screen with its sequel “Avatar: The Way of Water” this December.

“Avatar”, released in 2009, captivated the public with its splendid CG technology. Despite being released more than 10 years ago, “Avatar” remains the highest-grossing film in the world, and recorded a whopping $3 billion at the global box office.
