H1-KEY debuted when releasing their first single “Athletic Girl” in January.

However, after the debut of Thai member Sitala was announced, a fierce controversy arose. Sitala was criticized by people in Thailand because her father, who was an actor and director, was known to have actively supported the Thai military regime in the past.

At the debut showcase of H1-KEY, Sitala explained, “I have no political position. I want to clarify this point. I was immature at that time and didn’t really understand the situation. However, I hope people in Thailand will live together peacefully despite having different opinions.”
