“Get a hold of yourself,” LOONA woke up to Monika’s advice, shed tears at the thought of their trainee days

The members of LOONA shed tears as they recalled their trainee days after hearing Monika’s advice.

Mnet’s “Queendom 2” broadcast on May 5th revealed the practice process of the dance units’ members.

The “Greedy” team, consisting of Brave Girls Eun-ji, LOONA Olivia Hye, Yves, Hee-jin and Choerry, got visited by dancer Monika in the practice room when they were about to start practicing. Monika advised, “What if it’s a process where you can show your classic self properly and show your skills?”

Despite Monika’s appearance, the members struggled during the stretching exercise. On the other hand, Eun-ji, who majored in contemporary dance, stretched her legs flexibly. Eun-ji expressed her confidence, saying, “I feel like this is a good fit for me because it has the feeling I had learned before.”

The members studied the choreography diligently with Monika’s demonstration. When Olivia Hye couldn’t follow the move properly and missed the beat, Monika emphasized, “Get a hold of yourself,” and said, “Honestly, I’ve been teaching for more than 10 years. I can tell just by looking at your eyes. It’s okay to make mistakes if you are only here to simply perform, but you guys are not here just to perform. Put some tension in your body.”

Olivia Hye said, “I think I was still denying ‘Greedy’ even at the moment I got the lesson from teacher Monika. I couldn’t concentrate as I kept on thinking, “How did I get here?” she explained.

Monika said, “I have a lot of pride in my job. I’m doing it from the bottom of my heart. I made this choreography with all my heart,” Monika emphasized, making Olivia Hye focus more and more.

After the practice, Monika gave the team her warm advice and left the practice room. Hee-jin, who burst into tears with Yves, said, “I haven’t felt this in a long time.” Yves thanked, “I felt like I went back to the trainee’s mindset once again, thinking that there was a time when someone led us so passionately and gave us such big dreams.”
