Future direction of EXO: Continue with 8 Members, Including D.O., Baekhyun, Chen, and Xiumin

On January 8, EXO’s agency, SM Entertainment, distributed an official statement to the media, stating, “We would like to inform you about the future direction of EXO’s activities.”

“In the future, EXO will continue their activities with all 8 members, presenting new music and stages. Additionally, they plan to meet fans through various activities, including the EXO fan meeting scheduled for April”, SM stated,

Furthermore, the statement clarified, “The exclusive contracts with members who have renewed their contracts are still valid. D.O. (Do Kyungsoo), whose exclusive contract has ended, has agreed to participate in EXO activities together and is currently in ongoing discussions about future schedules.”

It is also revealed that Chen (Kim Jongdae), Baekhyun (Byun Baekhyun), and Xiumin (Kim Minseok), an agreement has been reached, allowing artists to proceed separately with individual activities while still under a contract with SM for group activities.

“As always, EXO plans to communicate with fans through good music and stages. We ask for your continued interest and support in the members’ activities. We will continue to put more effort and support into EXO’s and each member’s activities and growth”, SM also said. 

The agreement between SM and Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin (CBX), has also been confirmed by I&B100, the label established by Baekhyun and will manage the trio’s individual activities.
