From Child Star in ‘What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim’ to a Grown-Up Star in “Castaway Diva” after Just 5 Years

Recently, after the TV series “Castaway Diva” aired, the audience was deeply impressed by the young actors who portrayed the main character’s ‘young version’. These actors are Lee Re and Moon Woo Jin, with Moon Woo Jin being the talk of the town and causing a shock among viewers, as it turns out he is not a rookie actor but has been acting for many years, starting from his child actor days.

In “Castaway Diva,” Woo Jin plays the role of Jung Ki Ho, a high school student who try many ways to earn money. He does various jobs like renting out phone chargers, giving rides home to friends, and even working at the port, just to make money. The reason behind his determination is his violent father, who is a police officer and frequently abuses Ki Ho. Therefore, he strives to earn money to escape his home. Ki Ho’s life takes a turn when Seo Mok Ha (Lee Re) hires him to film a video. Their friendship blossoms, and when Ki Ho realizes that Mok Ha also suffers from an abusive father, he gives her all the money he saved, hoping she can start a new life in Seoul. Little did he know that this decision would lead Mok Ha to jump into the sea, living alone on a deserted island for 15 years.

In his one-episode appearance, Moon Woo Jin delivers an outstanding performance, especially in the scene where his character, Ki Ho, receives the news of his missing friend. It’s Woo Jin’s exceptional acting that leaves the audience hoping for more of Ki Ho’s story, but in the list of the cast members who will take on the roles of adult characters, there is no one playing Ki Ho.

Moon Woo Jin’s impressive acting is a result of his six years of experience in the industry, despite being only 14 years old. Viewers were genuinely amazed when they realized that Woo Jin is the same actor who played the young version of Park Seo Joon in “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim.” Furthermore, he also portrayed the young versions of Cha Eun Woo in “My ID is Gangnam Beauty” and Kim Soo Hyun in “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay.”

When comparing the images from five years ago in “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim” or “My ID is Gangnam Beauty” to his current appearance, the audience is truly shocked by how quickly Moon Woo Jin has grown. Many people even believed he was around 18 years old due to his impressive height and the fact that he played a high school student alongside older co-stars, yet he didn’t fall behind in terms of appearance.
