French Daily Newspaper Criticizes BLACKPINK’s Concert, Claims Expectations Falls Short

French daily newspaper Le Parisien has evaluated BLACKPINK’s July encore concert as the worst

Le Parisien recently evaluated the concerts of famous singers held from May to last month at Stade De France and Paris La Défense Arena.

Before revealing the evaluation results, Le Parisien emphasized, “Since this is an entirely subjective ranking, some may be delighted and some may be unhappy about it.

BLACKPINK held the encore concert of their world tour concert ‘Born Pink’ at Stade De France on July 15th. The concert drew an audience of 55,000.

Le Parisien commented on BLACKPINK’s concert, “Just because there was an audience that filled Stade De France doesn’t mean the performance matched it.

Le Parisien also pointed out, “The choreography was too textbook, and there was a lack of communication among the members, often passing each other.”

They noted drawbacks such as messy video footage capturing the members and unstable camera work, and too many intermissions that disrupted the rhythm.

Le Parisien especially criticized a moment towards the end of the concert where one member inexplicably left the stage, and the remaining three members called out to the audience holding specific placards, calling it an “unreasonable situation that did not meet the popularity of these young Koreans.”

The member singled out by Le Parisien was Jennie, who left the stage while the others stayed and left the message, “I’ll be back,” only to return three minutes later wearing white pants instead of black.

The best concert highlighted by Le Parisien was by Canadian singer-songwriter The Weeknd, held at Stade De France in July. The newspaper praised it as “the most flawless and boldest concert of this summer in every aspect, from stage setup to vocals.”
