Kim Da Som received harsh criticism for her acting that broke viewers’ immersion in MBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama “Kokdu: Season of Deity”, which aired the first episode on January 27th.
Kim Da Som appeared in the drama as Do Jin Woo (Kim Jung Hyun)’s ex-lover Tae Jeong Won. Tae Jeong Won is a doctor and an “eomchindal” (a talented daughter to whom parents often compare their children) who has both beauty and intelligence.

On the broadcast, Tae Jeong Won warned Han Gye Jeol (Lim Soo Hyang), who entered the hospital thanks to Do Jin Woo, to quit her job at the hospital. She said, “Don’t misunderstand Professor Do’s kindness as a favor. There is no goodwill without a price”, and showed a provoking expression.
Tae Jeong Won (played by Kim Da Som) is a feisty and arrogant character. However, it was pointed out that Kim Da Som hindered viewers’ immersion level rather than causing tension with her round eyes, awkward gazes and unnatural expressions.

Meanwhile, Kim Da Som expressed her feelings about playing the role of Tae Jeong Won at the press conference of “Kokdu: Season of Deity” held in Mapo-gu, Seoul on Jan 27th.
Kim Da Som said, “Tae Jeong Won is emotionally restrained, cold and has a strong tendency towards perfectionism.”
She confessed, “(But) I’m usually bright and cheerful, so there were different points between us.”
