In August, D.O became embroiled in controversy for smoking in the Music Core waiting area.
D.O. was reported by a citizen for smoking in the Music Core waiting area back in August. Recently, on Pann, an anonymous account shared a response from the Mapo District Health Center stating that the male artist had been fined.
The entire MBC headquarters (where Music Core is filmed) is designated as a non-smoking area. D.O.’s smoking inside the TV station building is a violation of the smoking ban under the National Health Enhancement Act.
The management company explained that D.O. used an electronic cigarette without nicotine. However, upon inspecting the product, nicotine was found in the ingredient list and instructions. Therefore, the male artist was fined for his violation.
In a behind-the-scenes video of EXO, a moment where D.O. exhaled smoke was captured on camera. Although SM later edited the video and removed this scene, the edited clips continued to spread widely on social media.
