Ex-LOONA’s Yves talks new path as a solo artist, thanks fans for protecting her during hard time

Former LOONA’s Yves is getting ready for a new chapter of her career, without other members.

LOONA members, who have recently become free, have signed exclusive contracts with new companies and are preparing for a new start. After careful consideration, Yves decided to walk her own path without accompanying the members.

Chuu withdrew from LOONA in November last year, and other members also filed for an injunction against their former agency Blockberry Creative to suspend the effect of their exclusive contract.

Yves has decided to do solo activities to pursue music with her own color. It was regrettable that she broke up with the members who had been together for a long time and worked alone, but she needed to make a decision as it was an important time. Yves recently shared her recent status in an interview.

Q: How have you been?

“Now I’m staying with my sister and cute cats after organizing my accommodation. There’s a space at home where I can work, so I’ve been busy working and having meetings alternately with the studio. Also, I started a blog recently, and many people seem to like my pictures and writings, so I am writing them hard and fun.”

Q: Many people are curious because the members signed a contract with a new company but haven’t heard from Yves yet.

“I wanted to create and unfold my own color more musically by composing and writing songs and lyrics about things that I couldn’t achieve in the inevitable situations. I don’t have a company yet, but I’m looking for a place where I can start a new start with myself by carefully meeting various companies.”

Q: Fans are also curious about the music that Yves is pursuing.

“Usually, I listened to and worked on various genres of music. But among them, I like rhythmical and dreamy R&B music or pop punk with cool band sounds. The fans love the charm that comes from the difference between my strong side on stage and my big smile. I think the musical genre also has that tendency, so I think I’ll be able to show you various sides in the future.”

Q: What kind of artist do you want to be?

“I want to be a consistent artist who shines on stage, develops more and more, and doesn’t lose her initial commitment. I learned how to act before our debut. I thought it was so charming. I was so sad that I didn’t have a chance, but I want to learn a lot about acting and study hard so that I can expand my field to acting if I am ready.”

Q: Is there a role model for a solo artist?

BoA! As time goes by, I always think, “I want to be like her,” seeing my own color, singing skills and performances that don’t rust.”

Q: Is there anything you want to say to the members?

“I don’t think they’ll like it if I say it long. It’s cheesy even after a few years, but I love you and I feel like I’m here because of the members. Thank you so much.”

Q: What makes Yves happy?

“I don’t know if it’s an obvious answer, but it’s our fans. There were so many happy moments, but there were so many difficult situations that I could have left my side, but I want to say thank you to the fans who supported me silently. And I really want to repay you.”

Q: What’s your motto or goal?

“My motto these days is ‘must!’ There are so many people who want to make me happy, so I am saying “must” in my heart. I’m sure there will be moments when I’m tired, but I want to be a solid person who can regain balance without regret in my choice and even if I’m shaken. I want to work hard and become an artist who is recognized in many ways. Please look forward to it!”
