Embarrassing moments at the 2022 MBC Entertainment Awards: From “Cinderella” Lee Mi Joo to Yoo Jae Suk waiting for CF broadcast
Lee Mi Joo and Yoo Jae Suk experienced embarrassing moments at the 2022 MBC Entertainment Awards.
The 2022 MBC Entertainment Awards was held at the MBC Public Hall in Sangam on the evening of December 29th.
On the broadcast, Song Eun Yi and Kwon Yul called out the name of Lee Mi Joo, who is a cast member of “Hangout with Yoo”, as the winner of the Excellence Award in the Music/Talk Category (Female). Lee Mi Joo defeated “King of Mask Singer” Sandara Park and “Hangout with Yoo” Yoon Eun Hye and Jo Hye Ryeon to hold the trophy in her arms. However, Lee Mi Joo looked embarrassed as if she had never expected to receive the award. She was even taking off one side of her shoes. Eventually, Lee Mi Joo, who was in a hurry, went on the stage wearing only one shoe.
Delivering her acceptance speech, Lee Mi Joo said, “I didn’t expect to receive any awards. I finished the opening stage, then took off my shoes because I thought I did everything I had to do today and only needed to sit there and clap comfortably”, drawing laughter. She added, “Thank you so much. First of all, I want to thank ‘Hangout with Yoo’ family, especially the members. Thank you, mom and dad. Grandma, I love you. Thank you so much for giving me this award”.
There was another embarrassing moment at the award ceremony. Yoo Jae Suk went up to the stage to receive his award, but couldn’t say anything for 60 seconds because he had to wait for commercial broadcasts. Yoo Jae Suk was announced as an Entertainer of the Year winner but he suddenly had to embarrassingly wait in front of his colleagues as the three MCs shouted “60-second CF cue”.
After the commercial, Yoo Jae Suk jokingly said, “The awards ceremony has been heated up, and everyone is feeling hot. Please fix the ventilation”. He continued, “Thank you for giving me such a big award. We did many things, but the production team members had a really hard time. It’s not easy to create a different concept every week, but they tried their best to make it”, honoring the production team.
Regarding the future of “Hangout with Yoo”, Yoo Jae Suk said, “It’s been only a few months since the seven-member lineup was formed. The days that you can see our ripped chemistry are approaching, so please wait a little more. There are currently not many variety shows left. I hope variety programs remain as a method to produce natural fun and discover new entertainers. Thank you for loving ‘Hangout with You’.”
