“Dream” Park Seo Joon talks about building a muscular body for football player role, bickering scenes with IU, and more

Actor Park Seo Joon revealed various behind-the-scenes stories about the production of “Dream”.

Park Seo Joon had an interview ahead of the premiere of his new movie “Dream”.

Regarding the question, “Did you lose more weight?”, Park Seo Joon replied, “I’m dieting because I’m in the midst of filming right now. I didn’t weigh myself, but I think I come out well on the screen if I keep my body like this.”

When asked if it was hard to build such a body, the actor shared, “I had to work out a lot. I actually played football like a professional player and playing on natural grass was harder than I thought. After running for 70 minutes, I felt like I was going to faint. There were also many details thing they were hard to perform.”

Park Seo Joon’s body that appeared in the movie was so perfect that many people thought it was created with CG effects. In this regard, he said, “Thank you for writing such comments. (laughs). I didn’t even expect my body to be like that. I tried to be friends with the ball for a long time and even went to a football club on days without filming schedules to practice. I think the cameramen did great camera work and they really made me look more like a football player. They actually had a hard time running all day to capture me on the screen.”

Regarding the efforts he made to play the role of a football player, Park Seo Joon said, “I focused on taking care of my body as much as possible. I stopped drinking alcohol, controlled my diet, and exercised regularly”, adding “I also paid attention to fashion. I thought I should wear shorts and short-sleeved T-shirts rather than long pants and long-sleeved shirts to look like an athlete. I intentionally lost weight to fit that image.”

Revealing his feelings about working with IU, Park Seo Joon said, “There were many bickering and quarreling scenes. It’s interesting that the movie ended with a quarrel, but I personally thought it would be great if it ended with a warmer scene”.

He continued, “IU is a successful musician and singer, so I was very curious about what kind of an actress she was. I was also surprised to know that she chose this work for a similar reason to mine”, adding “She has good reactions and we’ve become quite close after working together. I even received her concert ticket as a gift, but I felt so sorry that I couldn’t go because of a filming schedule”.

Interestingly, “Dream” is somewhat connected to the drama “Dream High” that Park Seo Joon filmed with IU in his rookie days. In this regard, he said, “At that time, I played an idol singer. This is so embarrassing (laughs). It was my debut work”.

When asked, “What is Park Seo Joon’s ‘dream’?”, the actor shared, “I want to remain a passionate person who continues to take challenges”.
