Diva Shin Hyo-bum’s Cover of “Feel Special” Gives TWICE’s Jihyo Goosebumps “It’s Like Her Song”
‘Golden Girls’ completely captivated TWICE and IVE with their performances
On November 10th, the production team of KBS2’s ‘Golden Girls’ revealed a video showing the genuine reactions of TWICE and IVE to the performances of Shin Hyo-bum’s ‘Feel Special’ and Park Mi-kyung’s ‘I AM,’ which surpassed one million views in just seven days after the first broadcast.
After watching Shin Hyo-bum’s ‘Feel Special’ stage, TWICE’s Jihyo and Nayeon were amazed by Shin Hyo-bum’s outstanding lyrical delivery and composure. Nayeon said, “I’ve already watched it about three times.”
Jihyo, impressed by Shin Hyo-bum’s performance, commented, “Isn’t she too composed? She performed it like it’s her song,” and couldn’t hide her astonishment at the diva’s cover stage. Jihyo added, “If I saw it live, I would have definitely gotten goosebumps.”
IVE’s Liz, Rei, and Leeseo also applauded Park Mi-kyung’s ‘I AM’ stage. Liz commented on Park Mi-kyung’s cool high notes in sync with the band’s sound, saying, “Originally, the song is for six people, but she’s singing it alone.”
Rei and Leeseo also gave enthusiastic applause for Park Mi-kyung’s explosive vocals and flawless dance and rap, expressing admiration for her stage presence.
‘Golden Girls’ continues to gain popularity in Korea with explosive viewership after its first broadcast. The first episode of ‘Golden Girls’ recorded 4.4% in the Seoul metropolitan area and 4.0% nationwide on October 27th (Friday). The second episode recorded 5.4% in the Seoul metropolitan area and 5% nationwide, setting a new self-record for the highest viewership in just one week.
‘Golden Girls’ also rose to 18th place in the entertainment program brand reputation for November 2023. Moreover, according to clip VOD statistics from October 28th to November 5th, ‘Golden Girls’ recorded the highest number of views in entertainment programs on three major TV channels and Naver TV, ranking 2nd overall in Naver TV programs. From its first broadcast, the show has received high interest from domestic viewers.
Led by producer Park Jin-young, the ‘Legend Divas’ of Korea are gathering heated attention with the divine debut project ‘Golden Girls’. The third episode is scheduled to be broadcast on November 17th at 10 p.m KST.
