Disney+ to release new K-drama in December, featuring Jung Hae In, Go Kyung Pyo, and Kim Hye Jun

Streaming platform Disney+ will release an original K-drama directed by Miike Takashi in partnership with Studio Dragon.

Disney+ original series “Connect” (literal translation) has confirmed its release in December with the casting of Jung Hae In, Go Kyung Pyo, and Kim Hye Jun. “Connect” is a story about a new race with an immortal body called “Connect”, and begins when an organ trafficking organization kidnapped a person of this race, took one eye away, and then had that eye transplanted into a serial killer who caused a stir in Korea.

The series will be the first Korean-speaking project directed by Takashi Miike, who is known for his mastery skill and has a worldwide fandom,

Meanwhile, actor Jung Hae In, who has shown his versatile acting via notable works of various genres, from “Something in the Rain”, “One Spring Night”, to “D.P” and “Snowdrop”, is expected to lead the project with a shocking appearance that has never been seen before. In particular, he will assume the role of Dong Soo, the “Connect” that has his eye taken away.

Go Kyung Pyo, who surprises the audience with insane synchronicity with each character portrayal, from “Decision to Leave”, “Private Lives”, to “Reply 1988” and more, will present an irreplaceable performance as Jin Seop – who has an eye of the “Connect”. This character is a perfect and wonderful colleague at work, but has an unimaginable image inside, adding to the tension of the play.

In addition, Kim Hye Jun, who has been attracting attention in various works such as dramas “Inspector Koo” and “Kingdom”, as well as movies “Sinkhole” and “Another Child”, will play the role of Lee Rang – a mysterious assistant for Dong Soo, who knows of the secrets of “Connect”.

The Disney+ original series “Connect” will be released in December 2022.
