Handsome Model-turned-actor Who Passed Away After Various Scandals Such As Drug Use, Drunk Driving

Model-turned-actor Ye Hak-young reportedly passed away on Dec. 24 last year at the age of 40. While the exact cause of his death is unknown, the sad news was belatedly announced through an acquaintance’s personal account.

After hearing the sad news about Ye Hak-young’s passing, Oh Byeong-jin, a singer from the group Ocean, expressed his condolences, saying, “Be happy in the sky. I will pray for you. My heart hurts so much.”

Ye Hak-young entered the modeling industry by participating in the Seoul Collection in 2001. Later, he debuted as an actor on the drama “Nonstop 4” in 2003. He also played minor roles and supporting roles in the films “A Millionaire’s First Love” (2006), “The Cut” (2007), and “Like Father, Like Son” (2008).

He was arrested in 2009 on charges of smuggling and dosing drugs and spent about two years in hiatus for self-reflection. The actor later returned to Mnet’s drama “Serenade operations” in 2011. In 2012, he appeared in tvN’s “Korea’s Got Talent 2” and later starred in the films “Horny Family” (2013) and “A Pharisee” (2014).

However, he caused a stir when he was caught drunk driving twice in 2018 and 2019. In 2018, he was caught by police while sleeping with a vehicle parked on the road. His blood alcohol level was 0.067%, which was the level of license suspension. In 2019, while driving a motorcycle, he was caught in a drunk driving crackdown. Similarly, the blood alcohol level corresponding to the suspension of the license came out.

After these scandals, he didn’t have any significant achievements in the entertainment industry and was found death in 2022.
