Jeon Somi’s new song ‘Fast Forward’ MV has sparked controversy over certain scenes that are suspected of plagiarism.

The MV for the new song ‘Fast Forward’ immediately garnered worldwide attention from fans. It achieved the top spot on YouTube’s worldwide trending chart and set a record as the most-watched MV on YouTube within 24 hours, solidifying Jeon Somi’s popularity.

Amidst this attention, some have pointed out that the illustrated character appearing in ‘Fast Forward’ MV is similar to characters from the Japanese manga ‘Urusei yatsura.’

As the character had been prominently featured in Jeon Somi’s teaser content before the song’s release, some fans are puzzled. However, due to the striking similarities in art style, expressions, and overall vibe, netizens are raising concerns about plagiarism allegations, even if it was an official collaboration.

Netizens express disappointment with reactions like “The song is good, and the music video is good, why did they have to include that character?” “It would have been better to see more of Jeon Somi’s face.”

Jeon Somi’s agency, The Black Label, responded that there are “parts that require verification” regarding this matter.
