The article contained remarks made by Kim Tae-ri while preparing for the role of Lee Yeon-hee in the movie “1987“, which was released in 2017.

Kim Tae-ri once shared in an interview, “I didn’t know much about the times at that time, so I needed to study before the movie began filming. I read a lot of books, and I sought advice because my uncle lived in that era. I also heard a lot of stories from my seniors.”

On the other hand, Jung Hae-in, who plays Im Su-ho in “Snowdrop“, said in an interview with fashion magazine Harper’s Bazaar on Nov 23rd, “I was born in 1988. Therefore, I could not go through 1987 myself. There’s a lot of work using that timeframe as a backdrop, but I think the real answer will be in the script itself. Once I’ve read through the script thoroughly, I’ll be able to draw a picture of it in my head. What’s more important is that, through the drama, I can feel how amazing the props team and costumes team are.”

Netizens who saw the two’s answers responded, “How can you not study about the times while doing a historical drama? If you don’t know, you have to learn”, “Are you saying that you didn’t study?”, “You would have been criticized more if you said you studied”, “Did you trust the script that much?”…
