“Compared to Kim Tae-ri”… Netizens criticize Jung Hae-in’s remarks and attitude towards historical dramas

Regarding the controversy over JTBC’s drama “Snowdrop” due to the beautification of the Agency for National Security Planning (NSP), Jung Hae-in’s remarks were compared with those of Kim Tae-ri, who appeared in the movie “1987”.

On Dec 20th, an article titled “Kim Tae-ri and Jung Hae-in’s attitude towards historical dramas” was posted on the online community Instiz.

The article contained remarks made by Kim Tae-ri while preparing for the role of Lee Yeon-hee in the movie “1987“, which was released in 2017.

Kim Tae-ri once shared in an interview, “I didn’t know much about the times at that time, so I needed to study before the movie began filming. I read a lot of books, and I sought advice because my uncle lived in that era. I also heard a lot of stories from my seniors.”

On the other hand, Jung Hae-in, who plays Im Su-ho in “Snowdrop“, said in an interview with fashion magazine Harper’s Bazaar on Nov 23rd, “I was born in 1988. Therefore, I could not go through 1987 myself. There’s a lot of work using that timeframe as a backdrop, but I think the real answer will be in the script itself. Once I’ve read through the script thoroughly, I’ll be able to draw a picture of it in my head. What’s more important is that, through the drama, I can feel how amazing the props team and costumes team are.”
