LE SSERAFIM’s “Easy” MV Will be Banned by KBS?

After banning (G)I-DLE’s “Wife” for its lyrics, KBS has deemed LE SSERAFIM’s “Easy” MV “ineligible for broadcast”.

On February 16, Korean broadcasting station KBS released its latest decision regarding upcoming music releases.

According to this announcement, LE SSERAFIM’s “Easy” MV, which will be officially released on February 19, has been deemed “ineligible for broadcast”. This means that while the song itself is not banned, any footage related to the MV will not be allowed on KBS content.

The reason given for the ban is “Risk of Imitation”, and while no other specific detail is revealed, netizens are suspecting that KBS’s decision has to do with LE SSERAFIM’s “Easy” MV depicting the group’s “anxieties and struggles”.

As a result, many netizens are showing their frustration at KBS’s irrational ban, claiming that “anxieties and struggles” are everyday elements that should be depicted freely on broadcast.

On the other hand, others just shrug off the situation, citing that KBS had banned MVs and songs for way more ridiculous reasons in the past, such as (G)I-DLE’s “Wife” for “sexual innuendos”, BLACKPINK’s “Kill This Love” for Rosé not wearing a seatbelt, and BTS’s “Dope” for mentions of brand names.
