Cha In Pyo has built a career and a happy family with his own hands.
Recently, Cha Su Woong, the Chairman of Woosung Shipping and biological father of the male star Cha In Pyo, passed away, drawing massive attention from the public. The question remains who will inherit the fourth-largest shipping company in Korea which stands at 10th place in the shipping world that worth around 370,000 billion won.
Chanel A reported that all the Cha brothers refused to inherit the family business, and Cha Su Woong sold all his stakes to a joint venture before his death because he had no successor.
Cha In Pyo admitted not knowing anything about sea shipping; therefore, it would be useless for a man like him with no knowledge of freight to take over the business. It came as no surprise to the public because Cha In Pyo has devoted his life to acting.
A wealthy chaebol toiling in the acting scene
Cha In Pyo draws the attention of the public as one of the first actors from the upper class to join Korean showbiz. He was known for not taking over the family business when he first made his way into the acting scene.
Cha In Pyo is the eldest son of the Chairman of Woosung Shipping. He is supposed to be the sole heir of the company. Actor Cha has both the look and wealth. He was promised a comfortable life without having to break a sweat for a single day.
In the early days of acting, Cha In Pyo was frequently chosen for the CEO roles or sons of chaebol families. His most notable role was businessman Jun Hee in “Star in My Heart.”
Cha In Pyo’s handsome businessman image drove fans crazy. At one time, he was loved as much as other big stars such as Ahn Jae Wook and his renowned leading role Kang Min. He fitted so well with his role in “Star in My Heart” that viewers believe he was “destined” to play the role.

The ideal husband of everyone’s dream
Cha In Pyo is undoubtedly the ideal man from the most swoon-worthy romantic book. He is good-looking, well-off, and successful at work. Above all, he is faithful to his wife, Shin Ae Ra.
Cha In Pyo met Shin Ae Ra on the set of “Love is in Your Embrace.” He transforms into a son of a prestigious and wealthy family who pursues a girl from a lower background. Ironically, that is also the start of his love story with his wife.
In an interview, Cha In Pyo said he loved Shin Ae Ra at first sight. He was a rising star while Ae Ra only recently joined the acting scene.
The relationship was thought to be going nowhere when they came from two different worlds. When asked why he decided to pursue Ae Ra, actor Cha said that he loved her gentleness and genuineness.
They became an item in 1994 and got married in March 1995. At the time, Cha In Pyo and Shin Ae Ra were both under 30, a rare case for those whose careers only started growing as the marriage could potentially hinder their career prospect.
In 1998, Shin Ae Ra gave birth to the couple’s firstborn child and adopted their second one. The reason was that actor Cha did not want to see his wife going through the same pain again. After 30 years of marriage, the couple is living a content life with no drama.
He also shared on a reality show that he said he loved his wife five times a day. When the MC said that was too much, he quickly said if it was supposed to say that because she was his wife, melting viewers’ hearts.
In return, Shin Ae Ra also cared for the most minor things, asking about how well he slept at night to keep the romance alive.
Apart from their happy marriage, Cha In Pyo and Shin Ae Ra frequently did philanthropic work to help orphans. They were honored by the Korean government for their contribution to the community.
