BTS’s song “Butter” returned to 1st place on Billboard HOT 100

The power of “Butter” is too strong. BTS regained their top spot on Billboard’s main chart, ‘HOT 100’.

According to the new chart announced by the U.S Billboard on September 7, “Butter” once again topped the latest chart (chart dated September 11).

Butter” was released in May. The song debuted at #1 on June 5 and ranked No.1 for 9 times in total. Last week, “Butter” only stayed in the chart at No.7, but it soared again and came back to first place this week. It is said that the song gained back its strength after the remix version featuring Meghan Thee Stallion was released last month.

“HOT 100” selects the most popular songs by combining the data of various categories such as radio broadcasts, streamings, and digital sales in the U.S market. This chart reflects the public’s recognization of not only the U.S’s music but also the general popular music worldwide. BTS once again proves their global popularity by earning the 10th No.1 in “HOT 100” with “Butter”. Billboard explained, “Butter resurged to the top spot this week. This is the 40th single in the history of Billboard that has topped the chart for over 10 weeks.”

The popularity of “Butter” has also been proved on many other platforms. “Butter” was the most streamed song on Spotify in the first 24 hours. BTS broke a new record in “The KPOP group with the most-viewed Youtube music video in the first 24 hours”. The group’s online concert “BangBangCon The Live” held in June, also set a world record for having the largest number of audiences.

Meanwhile, BTS has just posted on their official Twitter account: “Thanks to the love from ARMY that Butter came back to the No.1 spot. Thank you for your consistent love for the past 15 weeks.”
