“Boy Fantasy” production company responds to Yoo Jun Won’s position, “Please stop telling lies”

The legal representative of “Boy Fantasy” producer Funky Studio argued that Yoo Jun Won’s claims are false

On September 20th, attorney Lee Yoon Sang said, “I don’t understand why Yoo Jun Won is making a false claim that Funky Studio intentionally postponed the trial date”. He explained, “Yoo Jun Won’side filed an application for an injunction on August 22nd, and the court started to process it a week later. In fact, it was not delivered to court due to ‘office absence’, which means no one was in the office when the postal service came to deliver the application”.

The lawyer continued, “The postal service neither contacted the office in advance nor waited for someone to come to the office before delivering it. Therefore, Funky Studio only received the injunction on September 15th”.

He added, “‘Office absence’ is a common reason in court proceedings since officers are not always staffed 24/7. However, turning such trivial matters into a false claim that Funky Studio intentionally postponed the trial date to trigger malicious public opinion on social media is not reasonable at all. It not only gives you no benefits but also burdens your fans”.

In particular, he clarified, “All the matters related to the trial schedule fall under the full discretion of the court”, and emphasized that Yoo Jun Won’s stance is not true.

Lastly, he said, “We ask you to stop telling lies and making continuous misleading remarks. Boy Fantasy members are working hard to go forward. I don’t know whether Yoo Jun Won considers this behavior as a form of noise marketing but his false claims are causing harm to not only Boy Fantasy members but also fans who support the group.”

Earlier, Yoo Jun Won was crowned the first-place winner of MBC’s “Fantasy Boys”, but he ended up not joining the debut group due to issues such as unauthorized departure and disputes over profit distribution rates.

On September 19th, through his personal Instagram, Yoo Jun Won said, “After filing a lawsuit in August, I sent documents to Funky Studio twice, but they did not deliver them, citing ‘absence of the addressee,’ and Funky Studio postponed the scheduled trial.”

The full statement of Funky Studio’s legal representative

The legal representative of Funky Studio has countered the claims related to Yoo Jun Won’s exclusive contract suspension and the postponement of the trial date.

Attorney Lee Yoon Sang said, “Yoo Jun Won is falsely claiming that Funky Studio deliberately postponed the deadline. I can’t understand why he’s making such an unreasonable claim.”

He continued, “Yoo Jun Won’s side received the preliminary injunction application on August 22nd. It seems that the delivery started about a week later at the court. The reason for non-delivery is claimed to be ‘absence of the addressee,’ which means that when the postal service came to deliver the mail, there was no one in the office. It’s not like the postal service contacts in advance and waits for someone to come to the office and then delivers it. Therefore, Funky Studio only received the delivery on September 15th.”

He emphasized, “The reason for ‘absence of the addressee’ is not uncommon in trials because there isn’t always someone at home or in the office 24/7. To portray even such a trivial matter as if Funky Studio intentionally extended the trial date and to conduct malicious public opinion manipulation through SNS is not only exhausting for fans but also does not benefit Yoo Jun Won at all. Matters related to the trial schedule fall entirely within the discretion of the court.”

Finally, he stated, “I ask you to stop making consecutive false statements and causing misunderstandings. Boy Fantasy members are working hard and moving forward. I don’t know if Yoo Jun Won considers such actions as a form of noise marketing, but not only Boy Fantasy members but also the fans who support the group are hurt by his baseless claims.”
