BoA suddenly deletes all of her SNS posts and unfollows everyone “Only one person left”

BoA is set to make a comeback on March 26th with her self-composed song “Emptiness”.

“Emptiness” is an Afrobeat-based pop genre song, delivering a calm yet resolute message of separation between love and betrayal, portraying a journey of self-healing from a wounded heart through its lyrics.

Ahead of the release of her new song, BoA garnered attention by deleting all her Instagram posts and unfollowing everyone, leaving only teaser images of her new song.

The only account she left in her follow list was that of her older brother Kwon Soon-wook, who passed away in 2021.

BoA’s older brother Kwon Soon-wook, who was a music video director, passed away on September 5th, 2021 at the age of 39 after battling peritoneal cancer.

At the time, he shared on his SNS, “I have cancer in my peritoneum, stage 4 cancer due to metastasis.” He also expressed hope for a miracle and thanked everyone for their support.

BoA expressed her support for her brother, “Oppa, I love you. We can overcome this. I’ll definitely make ramen for you. We have to eat it together. You’re truly a strong person in my eyes. Thank you for giving me strength every day.” However, in the end, Kwon Soon-wook passed away.

Following his passing, BoA mourned, “Soon-wook, my brother and my best friend. I’m so grateful to have been born as your sister. Our last conversation was ‘I love you’, thank you for leaving behind warm words. Now, do everything you want to do in a place without pain. Please watch over me and our family.”

BoA’s upcoming song comes about 1 year and 4 months after the release of her third mini-album “Forgive Me” in November 2022, arousing anticipation among fans.
